Walking on books?

Serving counter with a hip Sandwich bar.

My through:
D'Espresso Coffee Shop located at the new spot of Manhattan, just a block away from the New York Public Library.  Once entering the shop, ones would have a disoriented feeling, as if they were walking on books.  The continuity of bookshelf tiles runs through the floor, wall, to ceiling.  The shop is rectangular in plan, with seating on the left and serving counter to the right, both taking up the whole length of the shop.  The furniture is very clean and plain contrasting from the detailed bookshelf tiles. The lighting consist of a wall of back lit panel and some globe lightings affixed horizontally.  The sandwich and cake display at the serving counter is very simple, with individual menu items placed on rectangular plates covered by a large glass box.

I feel the theme of books goes very well with the coffee shop, where ones can sit down and enjoy their coffee while reading.  The design is a gimmick and the shop is very clean, organized, and simple, making it all very hip.  Ones would go into the shop, place their order, sit down, and just enjoy their coffee.  It is a perfect hide out in the hectic New York City.
